Post Mobihand Website malfunction
Yesterday, I attempted two times to purchase Card Reader at Mobihand's website. Each time, their website inticated that my credit card was refused. So I called my credit card company ans asked them if all was well. They told me, "Yes."

Finally, I wrote to their feedback address the following:

Quote:
I downloaded a trial of Card Reader from your website
and you notified me of that download at my e-mail address. I would like to purchase the application. It works. It's great.

I have entered my data at your website at:
https://www.mobihand.com/cart1.asp?posid=47&pid=2062
and the purchase keeps getting denied. My credit card company says
everything is fine. You apparently have a problem processing credit
cards.

Please look into your site.

Thank you.

They replied to my comment with the following:
Sebastian Dijmarescu wrote:
The credit card is declined because of the credit card security code you enter
does not match the one on the card (Transaction Status: Declined (Card Code
Mismatch) - this is from the credit card company).

Also, you have already used the same card successfully in the past, so if you
enter the correct code, the transaction will go through.

I do not believe I entered any card code in incorrectly.

Last evening, my credit card company called me and told me that they thought someone was fraudulently trying to use my card, as there were three $11.95 charges on it from the same source.

Obviously, MobiHand has my money. But I have no software. I wrote Mr. Dijmarescu back explaining that. I have heard nothing so far.

I'm wondering if someone is tapping into their website...

In the meantime, I'm offering a warning that something seems amiss there.

I'm a really big fan of Softick's software. You will catch me making a lot of links to them.

I never used Card Reader though. Haven't had a reason to try it.

I have a Macintosh and that means any .PDF files I try to place on my T|X don't go into a PDF directory. Instead they get renamed .JPG files and are visible (only the first page) in Media Reader. I can create a PDA directory using FileZ and, if I mount my SD card as a disk on my Mac, PalmPDF reads them just fine. Adobe's reader is a waste of space.

Also, mounting the SD card on my Mac is a lot faster thandoing a ful-on hot-sync to put something onto my Palm's SD card. I have family pictures and all sorts of stuff I can install quickly.

Lastly, if I have a spare card (a large one) I can take stuff to work and use my Palm T|X as if it were a USB drive on any computer. Very handy for carrying my preference files around for an Avid DS Nitris, which is what I do professionally.

Do you know of another application that would work the same way?

Hi Mark,
Mobihand is looking into your case, and has emailed you again.

Your card has not been charged, as the credit card processor declined your card for card code mismatch. You have submitted the order three times, but the transaction was declined each time for the reason I just said. Each unsuccessful attempt creates a temporary hold that is cleared in 3-4 days by your bank.

At of Sunday, 28 January at 3:46 PM I have received no e-mail from Mobihand. One issue I have with them is that there appears to be no telephone number to resolve issues with their website.

My bank told me point blank that the charges would show up on my next statement, whereupon I could contest them. To the extent that I do have an issue with a vendor, I always try to call to resolve any issues.

In the meantime, I have some good sofware here that works with my Macintosh perfectly. And I have a suspicion that I will never be able to use it.
