 m505 doesn't USB sync under Vista ?!

Post m505 doesn't USB sync under Vista ?!
I still use my m505 because I like the Palm desktop software.
However, I changed to a Vista computer recently and only months later started not being able to sync anymore. I don't have a serial port nor docking station.

Must I throw my Palm in the bin ?
