Old T3 with tiring backlight

My T3 (which I love) is old and I think that might be the reason why the screen light seems to have gone dimmer the last couple of months.
Does anyone know somewhere one can change the backlight or do something else too keep it going.... I can't deal with windows mobile and I don't think I will be able to afford Pre when it comes to Norway.
Buying a TX seems like a bad investment the way things are going for PalmOS.

Anyone know some tech wizard that can fix this?
