I seem to recall reading that there was some issue with Quickinstall and Vista, but they said they were going to fix that problem.
Correct, Quick Install does not work under Vista. However, when they release Palm Desktop 6.2 they removed QuickInstall replacing it with the older Install application. Alas, according to Palm, Palm Desktop 6.2 does not support the T3.

Could I drag the applications onto an SD card from the PC, and then put the SD card into the T3 and install them from the card, or will that cause it to self destruct?!
Yes you can do that. There is also the freeware application
MyInstall that may make this process easier.

Is there a way round it?
Other possibilities include:
Trying Palm Desktop 6.2. I thought I heard that some people were using it with older devices. But I could be wrong, might want to ask/check around.
Try the older Install. In the Windows file browser navigate to where the Palm software is installed (probably C:\\Program Files\\PalmOne). In this directory you will find QuickInstall.exe, but you will also find InstApp.exe. Try double clicking on it to launch it. Try using it to install something onto your T3. If this works, then we can add a shortcut to this in your program menu and change the PRC and PDB file handler to be this application.
