Transferring palm data from a mac g4 os9.2 back to a palmV

I never had a palm so I am new to this.
I have a simple question.
I am using a palmV with a mac g4 and os9.2.
After hotsyncing my data into my mac, how do I put the data back into my palm. I have never done this before. There is another problem that happens after I hotsync my palm data up to my mac. The palm screen tells me to click reset and after it resets, it goes to the preferences window. At this point, I can't click on anything on the screen, but I can push buttons, probably because the screen is way off center. When I do a hard reset, this fixes the problem, but I lose all my data. Since, I was able to successfully put the data into my mac, I would like to put it back into my palm. Any help would be appreciated.
