Post Palm Treo 680 External RF antenna Adapter
There is an antenna RF port located under the rubber plug on the upper right side of the back of the phone just like the 600 and 650, and 700s.

The adapter for the current 650 and 700’s does not work as the opening on the new 680 is slightly wider in circumference and much deeper.

I will advise as soon as there is an RF adapter cable available.

Post External Adapter Needed
Hello,

The ability to have an external antenna is important to me. I'm getting ready to upgrade to a PDA. I'm currently on our company's Cingular Plan, and they only offer the Treo 680. If I switch to Verizon, I can get the Treo 700. I know that I can get an adapter for the Treo 700, but it would mean paying $175.00 to get out of my Cingular contract, plus a higher price for the 700. Would it be worth waiting for an adapter to come out for the 680? Does anyone know how long this might take?

thanks

Is there an adapter cable available yet for the 680? I am thinking about switching from the 650.

It looks like I need to buy a new adapter cable. The one I have for the 650 will not fit.

I was looking at an antenna for my 680 since the signal strength isn't so good as it was with my last phone. It seems there are only antennas for the car boat etc. which have to be mounted and run with a cable. Too bad someone hasn't come up with a small external antenna that would plug in and be as long as the phone. When in use it would be in the up position an when not it could be folded down along the back of the phone.
