Did you say at one point you've officially \"Fondled\" (TM) one of these? How did you get hold of one?

Hell yes, I fondled one! When this thing broke on the net, I snagged a Press Pass to LinuxWorld Expo just to go there to see it! Spent 2-3 hours at Nokia's booth -- then left! I have pictures and everything. Haven't finished the writeup yet. Will post a link here when it's published.
What, you thought this was like my PSP flirtation -- no hands-on?

Even though you're an audiologist, you should have your eyes checked!
I'll post a link when the writeup is published. And because you have DOUBTED me, I won't even offer to send you a picture of the 770 next to my TE. Some people just need to be punished.

A *very* interesting article about some software that eventually found its way into the 770:

cnet chimes in, and is silly:

>>>Though it supports a ton of multimedia files, the Nokia N770's incompatibility with native Microsoft formats may turn off potential buyers.
Gee, just like all those Palm PDA buyers were turned off...

Christ almightly, if I wanted a Microsoft product, I'd by a goddamn iPaq. Muppets. Besides, its not aimed as a business device, although I'm sure one of the exsisting office suites for the Zaurus could be adapted.
I apologise for the above statement, now make with the photos already. I wish *I* could have got one of those things...

Not necessarily for the 770, but *is* for Linux, so...

 Re:
I think this has just sold me on one, assuming it's 770 friendly.

Well, look at this! Nokia was, after all, *correct* in not having the 770 broadcast its Bluetooth presence!
Alert over hi-tech thieves who scan cars for laptops
EXCLUSIVE
POLICE say advanced technology in mobile phones is behind a steep rise in vehicle crime in south Manchester.
Thieves are using new ‘blue-tooth’ phones to detect whether motorists have left mobiles or laptops in their cars. The ‘blue-tooth’ facility enables thieves to locate compatible electrical items – even if they are hidden away in a boot or glove compartment.

Riiiight. Ok, so our would be tea-leaf switches his bluetooth phone on and scans for active devices in the middle of a car park (or parking lot, as you folks call them). Exactly how is he supposed to tell which car its in, what phone he's connected to (after all, \"John's Mobile\" could be anything from a shiny Treo 650 to a clapped out 6310i)And then all he has to do is break intop the car without setting off any alarms and find it, all within the space of 5 minutes.
Believe that b*llocks and you'll soon be leaving your mobile switched off for fear of bluesnarfers and Symbian viruses.
