Is this all another pack of lies from PalmGear and
As a developer of PalmOS software, PalmGear still owed me royalty payments for sales in February, March, April and May this year. When I received an e-mail from PBH Holdings on the 9th October, I thought I would at last get the money the Kenny stole from me. But now it seams that this e-mail was just another pack of lies! The e-mail claimed that PBH would contact me within 72 hours of me sending them contact details, that was over 12 days ago now and I’ve heard nothing! They do not reply to e-mails I’ve sent during this time.
I am also still waiting for a reply from Kenny on the question of has he and his staff been paid for these months. I (and I’m sure others in the development community) would also like to know how PalmGear can afford to spend millions on new servers and software but cannot afford to send us our money.

I can relate; they owe me royalty checks for January through June. Their "terms" amount to an interest free loan - they will agree to pay 100% of what they owe you *if* you agree to a 36 month term beginning in January.
I've had enough of Kenny and PalmGear - I'm going to print a copy of the e-mail and write a letter to the Texas State Attorney General (don't know what good it will do, but it's next to free) and then file a lien against them for what they owe me.
Anyone want to consider a class action lawsuit?

This is a klassic instance of 3rd party's screwing the developers over. If i buy software, it is never from a 3rd party, its always direct from the developer. This way 1. Developer gets paid 2. Sometimes it amounts to quicker updates etc. BTW what programs did you guys write
My kind loving gentil words for palm gear:

That is just disgusting. I loved PalmGear and Kenny has always seemed like a standup guy, but when you can't pay you need to do what you can to pay your backlog and then close up shop.

its a real pity palmgear is doing this to us. Without competition i think handango wont lower their 30% "tax".
But its worth it...i get 300% more sales from them than palmgear.

There's very little difference between PalmGear distributing your software and screwing you for royalities and them just cracking your app and letting people download it as warez. Either way, someone gets the benefit of the software and the developer is cheated his due.

What's the latest on PalmGear royalty payment problems?
My first sale with them was in September of 2003 and I have not received any payments. I have a hard time getting them to respond to my e-mails.

This is why it's best to make your own website and sell your software direct (which is a pain I know). That way you don't have any third party screwing you out of your hard earned money. I never sold any of my software though Palm Gear and after seeing how many people have been screwed out of their money I never will. I hope you eventually get your money from them.

I am thinking of using palmgear.com to sell an app. So, now that this is 2007, anyone care to comment on their service?
I know that they are operated by Motricity, and so is software.palm.com . So they probably pay OK now, right?

This thread got started back when Palmgear was going through bankruptcy after having gone through a lengthy lawsuit with a major investor of Handango. Though Palmgear did come out of it, a lot of developers still have a lot of bitterness against them.
Ignoring that, they they are pretty much like most of the other Palm Software sale sites. My only recommendation is to read the service agreements VERY carefully. There are some things buried in there that you may not like.
