It certainly was for me. :( Such a shame, because I honestly do prefer exposed keyboards. The smaller screen didn't matter so much, but I really, really need WiFi in my next phone. I've lived without it in my Palm OS devices long enough! I'm sure as hell not carrying the legacy over to webOS when I finally get the opportunity to upgrade.

Total deal breaker for me too.

I like the Pre's form factor a lot, but the good old Treo formfactor will certainly appeal to a lot of old palm heads, but without wi-fi in this day and age (from this company) is a (terrible) joke.

Not a deal breaker since I'm still flying on a Treo 755p and I don't have WiFi now. If that were the only factor I might switch. I constantly fight for a bigger screen though. I wonder if the square screen would be a better read than the Pre screen.

Smiley's, I love smileys:  :ohno:

Yes. It's 2009. No longer a smart phone with out the obvious on-board.

The screen? Should be better on the Pixi or Pre than the Treos. Nevertheless, Palm needs a real upmarket smartphone with a killer screen. Pixi and Pre hold the low and mid ranges, but Palm needs WebOS on something upline. HTC Leo is a good place to start Palm.

Not entirely. Sprint-only and portrait keyboard (vs sideways "landscape" keyboard) were the primary dealbreakers. There's no way I'm suffering with Sprint's horrible coverage, and the tiny Pre keyboard is too cramped due to the limited width (the Pre is tiny! A lot smaller than I thought once I held and used one). Lack of wifi I might be able to life with (I live in mostly rural areas)... but I'd have to think about it.

This is the form-factor I want my Palm to be:
