The more they keep digging into this thing, the more it's internals are being revealed. The more I find out, the more I'm unsure how well this whole project is going to go over? Surely they know what they're doing.

I wonder if they've added Vista to the list of OSes you can use!

That's Fake!

HKK,
The Chinese website that broke the story said that the image was of an unnamed visionary of the platform, but were unsure who. Any ideas?

How can you say that? It has TRD, Be, Max, and Tool, all in one launcher? It is clearly the one True ALPo.

Haier has unveiled the world’s first device based on the recently announced Access Linux Platform (ALP) operating system.

The new N60 smartphone was spotted demonstrating capabilities of PalmSource’s upcoming OS at this year’s 3GSM tradeshow. The handset uses the popular clamshell form factor and works on 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS networks.

The device is powered by a 400 MHz core and offers approximately 59 MB of user available memory. It is equipped with a color QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) TFT screen, SDIO expansion slot, and 1.3-megaxel digital camera. Unfortunately, there is no short-range wireless networking integrated.

The Haier N60 measures 945 x 49 x 25 mm, and weighs approximately 130 grams with a 900 mAh battery unit (1450 mAh optional).

At the moment it is not known when the handset will be available or what it may cost.
