RE: the link
That may be (although I don't see it) but their domain names are registered to completely different people, so I think I'd disagree...
I don't see any links on usedpdaparts.com that go to pdaparts.com.

Thanks LegoDude! Your pictures and descriptions were a tremendous help. I was able to open my Zire 72 and change the battery. I would never have figured this out without your help. Thank you so much!

I'll replace LCD in Palm for $70 total.
Or I will sell LCD for $45 total.

 ahh, horror
well I just found out that my zire 72 won't charge. I plug in the charger and the light doesn't come up and there is no sign that it's charging. I think someone might have stuck something into the charger port on the PDA. what happens now, what should I do?

And make sure the charger is the correct voltage. 5.2v DC - 5v DC.
Try a soft reset but pushing the reset button.
If that doesn't do anything, perhaps just wait a few days. Sometimes Palms will just die and come back to life a few days later mysteriously. If nothing happens, opening it up and unplugging the battery is an option. Then simply plugging it back in will perform miracles.

You think Palm would take it for repair under the warranty? Is it better to just go in and fix it myself, I have a feeling that the port for the adapter got shoved into the unit and the charger can't reach it.

Thats not possible for it is soldered to the mainboard. The only thing that can happen is the pin it in getting bent.
I'm willing to evaluate it and repair it myself. Legodude522@gmail.com
Palm will most likely through in a fee somewhere. They make you buy their phone support from what I heard.

Well I'll see what I try to do. I think the pin may have gotten bent, is that what happens when you shove a 3.5 mm jack through the port? Also, I notice your guide here but I am still unsure how to get to the dc jack. If I go in and try to unbend the pin is it likely that I will break the pin? And what happens if I do break it?
The screen whine has been bothering me for a while now, but I'm still apprehensive to open the PDA because that would void the warranty. What do I have to adjust to fix the screen whine? I know where the digitizer is according to your guide, what should I do once I see it? Thanks a lot!

I don't see what you have to lose by trying to bend the pin back into place. Unfortuantly I got no more of those plugs avaliable, I sold my only one already.

Do not use T|T screen in other Palm devices.
Update. I just got a hold of a T|T and I was taking the screen out for use in another Palm. Looks like there is a problem here!
The screen in the T|T has a front-lit glass digitiser. You can only use the T|T's LCD in other Palm devices if you have the originally designed for T|T digitiser.
The LCD will work in other Palms and with the regular digitisers, but will have no light at all.
So I'm off to refund someone $60 and try to find someone who wants a T|T LCD with a bad digitiser.

 audio
my audio is broken. when i plug in headphones it doesn't work and the speakers don't work. do you think you could give me a suggestion on how to fix that. the problem is a result of excessive pressure on the headphone jack so i think there is a short or something. i love your guide and was just wondering if you have any advice, tips, or if you have ever fixed something like this before. thanks.

Notice:
I do not have any Palm screens. I'm asked each week for them. I don't mind but I thought I should let everyone know, I have none and I know no one with screens. Just look on eBay and the forums.
If I ever get a hold of a screen, it won't be sitting around for very long

Found screens for sale! They are $80 at usedpdaparts.com. Link to screens here.
Still pricey but cheaper than going to Palms. They are especially rare. Though I gotten a couple for $60.
