Well I at long last got a repair agreed by Palm under warranty. I sent yet another request (outlining how many times I'd already tried etc) for one via the Palm UK web site just before I went away for a short holiday thinking that I might as well do it then as Palm would not likely respond in a hurry...Upon my return from holiday I found that suddenly they had decided to give me what I was long overdue - and myself having sent a request on a Friday to them, by the following Monday a reply had been sent with a very brief one sentence apology , giving the required authorisation number & return instructions etc. The other little surprise was that the given number are only valid for two weeks ! Whats' the point of that ? I had to bend over backwards somewhat, to make sure I didn't miss that deadline - so I didn't have to spend weeks trying to get another repair number

Is that 2 week deadline idea so that some of the the absent minded miss out on their chance, give up & buy another/ forget it etc & save Palm Inc on their warranty repair budget ? Just sounds like another way to save money to me...
I await the outcome with caution from others experience & my own of warranty 'repairs' - which include replacement recon. units of variable quality being sent as replacements : I had a very ropey m125 unit a few years back (replacing the probably generically faulty m125 unit with another with. a really poor quality screen - very bad contrast & awful to read) ; more recently the recon T3 unit they sent for my unit with the failed (2nd) digitizer had no built in SD card slot door/cover at all...but it has a very good Sony screen on it so it's not all bad ! I just couldn't be bothered to complain any more about that one. I concede the one I sent for repair had some signs of wear so I didn't send a pristine unit in - but it did have a door on the SD card slot as the T3's are manufactured with....
sungod, glad to hear you've had some success with your warranty service - hope that new unit is reliable & durable
Me, I will be looking for alternatives in time - though sadly one won't be easy to find that does all the apps my Palms have come to do
Where should one look to find out what service Treo users have been getting ? Do they get a better standard of warranty repair or what ?
