Cannot establish connection between Clie TJ35/E1 and PC

I have bought a used Sony Clie PEG-TJ35/E1. I do not have the original installation disk - I was given a CD with, apparently, all the necessary software.

I installed Palm Desktop.
I connected Clie, got \"Found new hardware wizard\". I found and installed the driver Palm USBD.sys. EDIT: Sorry, this was Clhs0169.inf, I think - they were both in the same folder.

I then tried to establish a connection between the Clie and PC (which is running Win XP Pro). I got this message on the Clie:

\"The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again.\" The connections all appear clean.

The sticker on the Clie says Palm OS5. The Clie Launcher is version 4.53S. The Palm Desktop is Ver 4.0.1.

Any of you guys tell me what I am doing wrong? I'd be most grateful for help.

EDIT: I am awaiting login information from sonyclie.org in the hope of downloading an ISO to burn the actual installation disk. Will report back.

I obtained a .zip from http://sonyclie.org/PC/palmdesktop/ and burned an installation disk. It all works perfectly now. The Palm Desktop is Ver 4.1.0 and its shortcut calls itself Palm Desktop for Clie. I hope this may help someone else.
