Sony Clie PEG N710C Windows XP Hotsync Troubles
I have Windows XP Home. In fact, I just got this computer reformatted yesterday. I also have... A Sony Clie PEG N710C.
I went to Sony and read that the N710C was not compatible with Windows XP without Palm Desktop 4.1

I also read that during the installation I have to click the custom option and checked the USB Switcher option. Then I proceeded with the install. When it was finished, HotSync Manager launched as did USB Switcher. I right clicked on the HotSync Manager icon and chose \"Local USB\" Then I connected the cradle to the computer and to the wall outlet, put the Clie in, and pressed the HotSync button. A little balloon popped up from the taskbar Saying...
USB Device Not Recongnized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.
I click the message, then it says Unknown Device.
On the Clie, it says Unable to initiate a HotSync operation becase the serial port is in use by another application. I have tried all the other ports. They arent the problem, because my printer works on all of them.
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ethan
