What??? Did you even read the article?? I'm have no idea why you felt the need to label me, but as far as I'm concerned, you're the one that belongs under the bridge.

Best wishes to Tapwave. I just got a Zodiac 1 a while ago cheap from harmony computers. $200

Yep, I read the article. A better or let's say less inflammatory header could have been \"Tapwave changes focus\" or \"Tapwave goes OEM\". Good bye Zodiac just ticks people off.

It doesn't sound like the Zodiac will be gone. There's a line about the \"next generation multimedia platform\" being developed, and Tapwave doesn't sound like they're going into any long goodnight. There are several new developments listed that are just on the horizon.
They're a small company, so I can understand the need to take their time and perhaps restructure a few times to get the right strategy. I just hope they keep the doors open and keep listening to users for more ideas.

I recently talked with one of Tapwave's founders about these recent comments that seemed to say that the Zodiac line of handhelds is being phased out.

Thanks for the article; there's some interesting info!
They're still talking about a \"transition from retail\". I wonder if this means that there will not be a Zodiac 3 even though they will continue to support and create enhancements for the Z1 & Z2. I understand the plans to work with other brands and OEM customers/partners. But I guess the big question is, will we see a new Zodiac brand PDA ever again?

I hope it's not coming to a painful and slow end. In my opinion, it's the best Palm handheld out there right now. I'm just sorry the game part never got out of the starting gate. If they do release a driver for a WiFi card, it will be about perfect.

They (Tapwave) did release a driver for a WiFi card, several months ago. In fact they have released a couple of updates since as well as a free email program for the Zodiac. You can find the drivers and email program here

Thanks, Elfyn! That will teach me to check up on things more frequently. I just got slack.

You obviously never used the Zodiac for its main purpose, a true organzier. If you *actually organized your life instead of playing games maybe you would have kept your Zod.

 Shameless!
Gekko,
Where do you come up with these things???
Tapwave's Z2 was my last Palm OS pda I used before 'going over to the dark side' and got Dell's X50v. No regrets, but I always kind of miss Palm pdas as my first one was an m515. I guess what upsets me most is the fact this device had so much potential. It was a NICE PIM organizer, and a pretty stable unit. I NEVER had any trouble with mine; the company just plain, ole' SUCKED!
Well, now they're gone, and my wife will miss them greatly, as she LOVES her Z2. So long Tapwave Zodiacs, you were good while you lasted .
