Post Zodac...still going strong!!!!
I have never been on a forum before, and it looks like this one has not been added to in quite some time. (I tried registering at the Tapland forum, and emailed twice, but the gentleman there never got back to me.) I just wanted to say that I have approximately 300 apps on my Zodiac 2, and all are doing well. I am presently (in approx. #'s) using 11 file managers, 15 alarm apps, 6 photo apps, 3 music apps, 3 readers, 50 games, 8 faith based programs, a ton of utitlites, DA's, preference panel apps and hacks, and the list goes on and on. I started out with a Handspring Visor. Then went to a Zire 72. And acquired and gave away a Tungsten E and soon a LifeDrive. I actually have 3 Zodiacs, the others being for backups. I wanted one ever since I saw the ad on the back of a well known PDA magazine. I have my Zod with me all day long, using it for work and for lounging around. For some great apps for the Zodiac, check out my reviews at www.freewarepalm.com under my nickname - Louie G. And also at the old PalmGear site, if you can figure out how to get to them. :D

Probably the best Palm OS devices ever. Still, the stillborn marketing plan and biz model doomed the company from the beginning. When I went in a local gaming store 6mos after launch, and nobody there ever heard of one, I new the writing was on the wall. To bad.

Post Zodiac writing on the wall
Ya, I actually bought my first Zodiac well over a year after Tapwave went under. But that didn't matter. All that mattered is that I saw it in an add in late 2004, and knew that it was, for me, the PDA that came as close to perfect as I had yet seen: in looks, in build, in button layout and in usability. Just the other day I was looking through a new issue of PDA Essentials, and still to this day I have not seen a better looking PDA or Smartphone. When I do, I'll jump at it. But that day has not yet arrived. The iPhone is headed in the right direction, but still falls way short of what I would need to make the switch. A smaller version of the Sony PSP, but with the the abilities of the iPhone, would probably cause me to leave the Zodiac behind. And of course it would need the huge selection of freeware and shareware programs like for Palm. But that combination could be quite a ways off, if ever.
