AppForge today announced the latest version of its patented mobile application platform, Crossfire 6.0. The technology in Crossfire 6.0 marks the first time Visual Studio developers can easily create comprehensive on-device mobile applications for the millions of Palm Treo, BlackBerry and other mobile devices in the market today.
Significant new product features found in Crossfire 6.0 include:
“Our customers have told us that delivering data services over a mobile Web browser is not acceptable for them – it just doesn’t work,” says Chris Tyburski, CTO, AppForge. “Crossfire 6.0 provides businesses with a more sensible solution by enabling organizations to build data-enabled rich clients across more than 500 device and OS combinations; without having to worry about competing computing environments, user experience or technology turnover.” According to recent research from Evans Data Corporation, more than 61 percent of PDA and mobile software developers are currently building customer-facing mobile applications for use outside of their company – with an overwhelming majority using Microsoft-centric programming tools for development. Many of the key product enhancements found in Crossfire 6.0 are meant to make data services delivery and user experience on mobile devices easier and more realistic for customers with large mobile deployments.

I've realized there are two kind of Palm users. :) These who loves the plataform and these who hates Microsoft. :) For the first group here's the place to talk. I like you too, Voice of Dumbness! :) I'm sure you realize (by now) that your failed PALM stock trading gig is a zero sum game. So if you're losing on a trade, my bitter little friend, then that means someone else is winning: Someone better than you, someone smarter. :) That's *why* I like you. The market needs losers like yourself, otherwise winners like me would never be able to make a buck. Thanks for existing, buddy. :) He he. :) Oh, and I like Jeff too... but only because you don't. :D

Of course, even CodeWarrior can't hold a candle to the the development environment favored by elite Code Lords like me: PDA Toolbox. I'm currrently beta testing a PDA Toolbox app I'll be positioning to compete with DateBk5 feature-for-feature. I hear CESD wet his pants with ph33R when he saw my DtBook6 beta. I predict some gorillas are gonna starve this year.

Now developers can "de-suck" their VisualBasic mobile applications and turn them into industry-standard Java. I wonder if this will work for desktop apps too? :)
