No, seriously. I am impressed that Teal has got an entire software suite running off external media. Anyone have any stability issues with their stuff?

Well, a week or so after I registered TealScript I found out that it caused resets if you install a custom DIA on the T3 ("Pen sync error"). Didn't show up during my pre-purchase trial and certainly not advertized in their literature, but confirmed by their tech support. The program now sits on the virtual shelf, collecting virtual dust.

My experience aside, I've generally heard good things about Teal's stuff.

I also hear good things about Teal's stuff.
I know they've been making Palm OS enhancement stuff for years now, and seem to really have the end user in mind, which is cool.

I've been able to get by with freeware alternatives, but if someone didn't want to go through that, some money spent on Teal (almost anything) seems pretty well spent.

Patric, I'm using TealScrip on my T3 with a DIA skin. No problems for me.

On this note, for the T3, T|E, etc. owners. Tealpoint has the only address book replacement (TealPhone) which supports the enhanced fields of the built-in address book on these models.

I used it when it was still in beta and it is stable and outstanding. I personally have not purchased it because it does not have a function which mirrors the 5way Nav quick-lookup feature of the built-in addressbook which I have grown quite attached too. Nevertheless, if this is not a deal breaker for you, I highly recommend giving TealPhone a look if you own any of these newer devices and want an enhanced address book.

Now if only StandAlone would update SuperNames . . .

Ronin

How does it compare?

ocspub @ 9/24/2004 5:37:10 PM #
There are already a number of other backup solutions (e.g., BackupBuddy). How does this one compare? Anyone tried it?

Thanks,
Oliver

Very slow

ralvy @ 9/26/2004 10:57:29 AM #
Though I only tested this with encryption turned on (this is the only way I backup to an external card), I found it to be painfully slow. So slow, I had to abort it, and the Abort button failed to be recognized (so I had to Soft Reset). I have returned to BackupBuddyVFS for encrypted external card backups.
