Tungsten C is Great
I only hotsync to backup files. To install applications I browse my windows or linux smb shares and copy the files. Mp3, prc's, etc.
It's normal to download files from the network while listening t to mp3's. Buttery life is Ok.
I think the tunsten C is a little bit underestimated.
I'm glad o I bouth it some months ago instead of waiting for the already announced (and now available) Sony TH55.
Now Wifi is a must have for me and in the Palm One the T/C is the only alternative yet.
Next step...mounting shares as cards
RE: Next step...mounting shares as cards
" ...And after a hard day at work, a Sony CLIÉ UX50 owner can relax on the sofa and wirelessly listen to MP3 music files, straight from a home computer without having to go to the computer nor synchronize."
Technically that doesn't rule out downloading the file first to card and then listening to it, except that we already knew the author's intentions for the next revision. See the cached google todo list (it's been removed from the original location). http://tinyurl.com/2ms46
But to save you the jump, the last item is "-Create VFS plugin for using network shared resources as external memory cards "

While WiFile is reported to cost the same as Filepoint, one would seem to have to make the tradeoff decision. WiFile may well let you mount network resources and access files directly without pre-downloaded. Wile Filepoint doesn't have that feature, WiFile is not a file manager, so it's a one horse deal.
'Course if a person was only going to use this to listen to MP3's off their home computer, and they already had a copy of PocketTunes, they could just stream them in Shoutcast (the server for your desktop is free).
