Flashing black screen

I'm sorry to say that after nearly a year of reliable service, my PalmIII died today. Yesterday, it worked fine. Today, I turned it on, and got a flashing black screen. I re-seat the batteries, re-seated the screen connection, re-seated the memory, did a software reset, did a hardware reset, and none fixed the problem. The best I could make it look is in this picture. Blurry, dark, and streaked.
Goodbye, PalmIII.
Next? Maybe a Vx or the new color Palm when that comes out in a few weeks.
