New Marketing Campaign for m100
Varsity Group, a college marketing company, has signed a marketing- services agreement with Palm, Inc. Varsity Group will develop and implement a customized marketing program to promote the m100 to college students beginning this month.

m100 for college?

I don't understand why the m100 is being touted for educational purposes (aside from the price point)

I couldn't do with anything less than my Vx w/ the folding keyboard. I'm using between 6 and 7 of the available MB of RAM, and am constantly doing processor-intensive tasks, like advanced math calculations.

Nothing good ever came out of the m100, except for maybe the cool little note pad program.

i don't think they mean it quite so much for educational purposes as such as for college students who need/want a PIM. I think the target audience is college students who need a replacement for a paper planner, and not so much people who want to take notes on a portable computer.
I think the m100, for all its limitations, is a great entry-level device. Finally, people who want the convenience of a Palm but couldn't afford one can buy one. (Well, there's always the Visor option too, i suppose. :))

Sabrina, I think you are correct. Bighead, most polls that I have seen, including the one we are running right now, tend to show that most people just use their Palms as PIMs. We are power users and tend to fill our Palms to the max but we're the exception, not the rule. Some m100 users will get into them and trade up to something with some real space, but I'll bet most people will be quite satisfied with 2 MB of memory.
