Tutorial for Synching Palm with a Linux Box
ShowMeLinux has written a tutorial for synchronizing a Palm handheld with a PC running Linux. It gives step by step instructions for installing and using pilot-link which provides some command-line utilities for communicating with your Palm in Linux, and J-Pilot, a graphical front-end that makes the task a little more enjoyable.

Then you'll need to get a daemon going to recognize the USB data stream. To set that up I suggest you visit Milosch.Net: http://www.milosch.net/visor/ He follows the whole thing and provides lots of info and links to helpful resources.
Note: I've personally not been able to get the conduit to the Visor open, though I've been able to get everywhere else. I am also using the Caldera Systems Technical Preview that uses a pre-release of the kernel and KDE 2.0. YMMV based on wht you have and what time you can dedicate to the problem.
Good luck
