PUGs: Detroit, LA, Nashville, Houston

Apparently, lots of Palm User Groups want to get the year off right by publicizing their next meetings.

The next meeting of the Detriot PUG is coming up this Thursday, January 11 at 7:00 PM in Troy, MI. The main topics of discussion are a review of peanutpress.com's eBook reader, the Palm OS 3.5 upgrade; new features, why you might want it, and how to get it, and Give aways. For more information and directions, visit their web site. -Tracy Dreslinski

The next meeting of the Los Angeles Palm User Group (LAPUG<) will be on Saturday, January the 13th. The meeting will start at 1030 am. Check out the LAPUG web page for directions and a map. It will feature reviews of several new Palm applications, like TealMovie, WordSmith, and lots of other applications. -Ted Arlauskas

The next Nashville Palm User Group meeting will be this coming Saturday. Fresh from the Santa Clara Convention Center, they'll take a look at PalmSource 2000. They'll have a report on what to expect from versions 4.0 and 5.0 of the Palm OS, as well as some hints of what's to come in 2001 from Palm. As a special treat, they also have videos of the Opening Ceremonies as well as the highlight of the entire conference - Jeff Hawkin's inspiring talk "The Dark Side Of The Palm OS!" And, of course, there will be plenty of PalmSource goodies to give away! -Michael T. Ashby

This month Rick Cousins of Piloteer fame will be the featured guest at the Houston PUG. Rick has been writing for Piloteer from the very first issue. As an added bonus Piloteer is donating several subscriptions to be given away at the meeting. Seahorse Software is also sponsoring this meeting and has donated some software. The meeting is January 13 at 4:00 pm. -Matthew Mullenweg
