New Combo Memory and Alarm Springboards Available

Pogo! Products has launched the DataQuake Springboard module. Available in 8 MB and 16 MB versions, it provides memory expansion with vibration and a flashing LED for alarms. It comes with File Mover to copy apps and databases between RAM and the module. Its vibrating alert has three intensity levels. It is now available for $70 for the 8 MB version and $100 for the 16 MB.

It comes with software that allows alerts from the Date Book, To Do List and other applications to be sent as a vibration and/or flashing LED. It can also simulate a rumble pack by outputting games sounds as vibrations.

"The DataQuake Springboard module offers our Visors customers much more than extra memory. It makes gaming on Visors more fun and interesting with the vibration feature, and it also brings the convenience of a silent, blinking alarm," said Rita Sharma, business development manager for Handspring.

Poor you.. from worse to bad. Handspring's are dead.. and whatever model Sony CLIE you got, it's already obsolete and you'll lose support in a month.

Sucker.

I don't know who's the sucker.

I got the CLIÉ N770, in europe, and well, it's clear you haven't been in Europe lately... Sony support in here is really good; Sony has different companies for USA, Japan, Europe, etc... and in Europe they treat us well. Poor you, americans, from BAD to WORSE...

Why does every discussion always turn into "buy a clie" or "buy a palm" or "buy a pocketpc" or "buy a visor." ****! And you the genius original poster, you got a Clie, congratulations, where's YOUR vibrating/flashing alarm?

THE HANDERA 330 ROCKS! You should buy one! Forget all these glorified Gameboys...

I love how all this aruging goes absolutely nowhere...what is the point of it all??? All the products have their own bells, whistles, and vibrations. It is what you use your Palm, Visor, Clie, HandEra, etc., for each person the devices serves a different purpose and therefore has it's down niche in the owners life.

Please ignore the Handera comment. As an HE user myself, I doubt that was a Handera user and/or owner. Just pure and simple flame bait. Get off this board and get a life.

$100 for 16mb expantion

I.M. Anonymous @ 11/21/2001 9:59:49 AM #
For around $105 you can get a 128mb MemStick, and that is supposed to be expensive if you compare it to CF!
Ludicrous money!
Come on, if anybody has a Visor like myself, and needs extra memory they should buy a MEM-Plug.
As for the vibrating alarm, it's not that important a feature to be worth that much money.
Heck! You can even buy an m100 for $99!!!!!
This is precisely what Handspring doesn't need, overvalued springboards.

I tend to agree with this, although the funcitonality of flash is a nice, the price jump isn't worth it. It seems that the only memory that hasn't gone down in price is flash. I have 4 128 meg smartmedia cards for my memplug that are cheaper then this thing. Blink led, is that thing even useful? Plus I keep my visor in my bag, vibrator isn't going to do much.

Can you run apps off of it?

Does anyone know if you can run applications from this module? I use my Visor to take notes, to store large files, email, internet, Bible, money-management, and to view large PDF files. Do you think I will be able to use this???

You can definatly run programs of this. You can also put docs that are read only on the modules memory and open them in any prog.

Posts are comparing this to the Memplug with smartmedia cards. Can I run apps off the Memplug?
