palmOne CFO Leaves to Join SanDisk
palmOne today announced that Judy Bruner, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will leave palmOne to become executive vice president, administration and chief financial officer of SanDisk Corporation. PalmSource has also announced a new member of its board of directors.
Bruner has served on the SanDisk board of directors since July 2002. She joined palmOne as senior vice president and chief financial officer in September 1999 following 11 years at 3Com Corp. She will remain with palmOne through June 18 to facilitate a smooth transition.
The company has launched a search for her successor. Philippe Morali, palmOne vice president of corporate development and treasury, will serve as acting chief financial officer.
New PalmSource Board Member
PalmSource announced the appointment of Betsy Rafael to the PalmSource board of directors. Rafael currently serves as vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer at Cisco Systems, Inc.
Rafael brings 18 years of finance and operations experience at small and large high-tech companies. Before joining Cisco, she held the positions of chief financial officer and executive vice president of finance at Aspect Communications, overseeing the company's financial, legal, manufacturing, IT and facilities operations. Prior to her position with Aspect, Rafael served as senior vice president and CFO at Escalate, a private e-commerce applications service provider. Rafael has held management positions at Apple, Ernst & Young, SGI and Sun, received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Santa Clara University and is a certified public accountant.
Rafael joins PalmSource board members Eric Benhamou, John B. Shoven, Satjiv Chahill, Robert Finocchio, Jean Louis Gassee, David Nagel and P. Howard Edelstein.
