Wikipedia Mobile Officially Launched

wikipedia mobile pre The Wikimedia Foundation has officially launched a new mobile optimized version of Wikipedia. This new mobile version is designed for "fully featured" smartphones. The current version supports the Palm Pre, iPhone, Kindle and Android platforms. Initial languages supported include English and German with more planned.

Users on the Pre are automatically redirected to the mobile version, with a link at the bottom of the page to view the standard page or disable mobile redirection permanently. It also works with the Pre's universal search feature as well/ You can checkout some screenshots on the Pre after the break.

There is http://wapedia.mobi which looks great on Treos, and Palm TXes and also allows access to Wikipedia content.
