Semi-related: SMS data rate 4X cost of data from Hubble

Poopie @ 5/16/2008 1:13:45 PM # Q
Can't wait until all smartphones have built-in multiprotocol IM clients.

Carriers are GOUGING customers on SMS messages. Everyone knows it. No single entity able to stop it... yet.

So, my recommendation to everyone here is to stop sending SMSes or MMSes - send IMs and email instead. When the SMS cash dries up, maybe the telcos will rethink their SMS pricing.

Wow, some one got a big sms bill. Simple data/sms plans are out there and cheap.

On another note, doesn't the AT&T Centro have a IM setup for AIM, MSN and Yahoo in it already?

Indeed it does. It's missing ICQ and Google Talk clients.

The old ICQ program for Palm still works... at least it does on my Lifedrive and Treo 680 anyways...
