New On Screen Thumboard Software

Mini-Keyboard 1.0 by ANIMATORsoft is a new virtual keyboard for Palm handhelds. It provides a large on-screen virtual thumboard for entering text in most applications.

The Mini-Keyboard has a QWERTY layout with large keys. It is triggered as a pop-up window and can be used with a variety of applications, like Memos, Calendar, Tasks, Mail, SMS, as well as with any third-party software that has user regular text input fields. The typing can be done with stylus, one hand, two hands or a finger.

It also has an option of opening a larger horizontal (landscape) virtual keyboard on devices with HVGA (320 x 480) resolution. This keyboard features regular layout, but because it's located horizontally, it's almost twice as big and therefore much easier to use.

Mini-Keyboard can be downloaded as a free trial. The price of registering the software is $24.95 US Dollars. It requires Palm OS 5 or higher.

QVGA?

Nice thumboard... but don't you mean HVGA? Quarter-VGA is 320x240, not 320x480. :o)

Darn, you beat me to it. I wonder if it's Scott's or did some one do it before Scott did.

Hi John. My meeting was protracted. Please inform someone at PalmOne that customers are asking for a lifedrive with a real thumbpad.

DOA

VisorMiser @ 6/5/2005 8:19:39 AM # Q
This product is DOA, expecially for $25. It has none of the form factor and tactile feel that make real thumbboards cool and functional. The keys are square instead of slanted ovals that match the profile of the outside edge of your thumb, with which you type on one of these things. After typing three paragraphs on this thing, your thumbs will be throbbing.
