How to Google: 7 Easy-to-Follow Tips
Special to PalmInfocenter.com
When you google Netflix or PlayAmo online casino, you find the right site quickly. But it's harder to search for topics not related to a particular site. Use these tips to make googling easier.
Open a Google.com Search If You're Abroad
When using a Google search abroad, for example, while traveling, the search output will contain links to local sites with the local language. Fortunately, there is a quick and easy solution to automatically redirect your country to Google, allowing you to be guaranteed to visit the universal search on google.com, regardless of your current location.
To do this, use the alternative Google NCR (No Country Redirect) URL "https://google.com/ncr" which will always provide a search on google.com whether you are in India, China, Brazil, Honduras, Germany, UK, New Zealand, Australia or anywhere else on Earth.
Search Only on a Particular Site
If you only want content from a certain site, you can specify that right during your search. This is done simply by entering a keyword followed by the command "site:" and the full address of the site.
Search for a Particular Word or Phrase
Google displays results closely related to the word or phrase you've specified, enclose them in quotes. This function will be especially useful when searching for articles, songs, movies, etc.
Search for a Forgotten Word or Phrase
If you can remember only a part of a phrase but urgently need it as a whole, you can google it in this form. Put "*" instead of missing words. This way you will quickly find out how a saying, a line from a song, or a quote from a work of fiction sounds.
View a Cached Version of the Site
Not all Web pages stay on the Web forever. If material that you have already once encountered on the Internet has suddenly disappeared, there is still a chance to fish it out of the bowels of the Web. To do this, find content in a cached version of the page. To do this, enter the command cache: into the address bar followed by the missing URL. If you are lucky, the page saved in the Google cache will appear.
Search by File Type
If you want to find the file in any one format, let's say PDF, then enter a request into the search line, and then a command filetype:, after which we specify the format. For example: "math textbook filetype:PDF".
Search by Picture
If you have found an image that you would like to have in normal resolution, you can find the full-sized source image (if it exists at all) literally in two clicks.
To do this, go to Google.com, click on "Images" located in the upper right corner, and drag our image into the field that appears (or type in a link to it). Then we press "Enter" and get the result we want.
