Samsung Might Present a Smart Watch with a Solar Battery Strap

We all use electronic devices and are well aware of our need for power outlets. The issue of autonomy is most acute among smartphones and, in particular, smart watches. For many, the fact that they only work 1-2 days per week is a major issue. It turns out that even if you're only going somewhere for a day, you'll need to bring a charger with you. Samsung appears to have worked out how to fix the problem. Even if such watches are not currently available, the company has a patent and evidence that it has been working on the technology for some time. Smartwatches have always had an issue with power consumption, as fitting a large battery into a small gadget case that can be worn on the wrist is problematic. If the maker starts employing productive components and high-quality brilliant screens, it becomes much more difficult. You must select between a large thick physique and a lot of weight, or compactness, which is preferred by everyone. Perhaps, in the not-too-distant future, you won't have to pick between these two extremes.

Solar Power Watch

The design of a solar-powered strap for future Samsung smartwatches is described in a recently disclosed patent. Each portion of the strap will have a solar cell that will provide power to the watch's built-in battery, according to the complete description. To modify the course of light, Samsung claims to use a polymer with quantum dots over these solar cells. According to the company, such a design will increase efficiency.

It's worth noting that this patent was first filed in 2019, but the USPTO only recently disclosed it, indicating the seriousness with which the Korean corporation intends to proceed. Samsung, it turns out, has been working on this technology for a long time. This is not, however, the first time a firm has made such a decision.

Solar Power Battery

The Fenix 6X Pro Solar is one of the sundials available from Garmin. It's worth noting that this device can't run solely on solar power. You can only lower the discharge rate with it. According to Garmin, this technique extends the device's battery life and allows you to connect it to an outlet less frequently. To expect, at least naively, that Samsung will make it so that the watch can never be charged. Despite the fact that the business says that its unique technology is effective, it is unlikely that it will be able to collect enough energy to make the user forget about the outlet.

Clothing is another reason why such watches will be ineffective. If going down the street in the hot sun all day is one thing, sitting in an office all day in a shirt or hiding a watch beneath the sleeve of a winter jacket is quite another. All of this has a significant impact on the amount of light falling on the strap and, as a result, the charging pace.
