Comments on: Whitman: HP to Decide on WebOS Within Weeks
Q: What will you do with your operating system webOS?
A: We should announce our decision in the next two weeks. This is not an easy decision, because we have a team of 600 people which is in limbo. We need to have another operating system.

RE: Deja vu
She's been at Google for a few years now and is now making the rounds today explaining some of the details behind the intricacies and clearing up some misconceptions about hardware acceleration in Honeycomb and ICS versions of Android:
Worth a read for FINALLY clearing up some stuff that I had not yet seen definitively addressed previously.
Pilot 1000->Pilot 5000->PalmPilot Pro->IIIe->Vx->m505->T|T->T|T2->T|C->T|T3->T|T5->Zodiac 2->TX->Verizon Treo 700P->Verizon Treo 755p->Verizon Moto Droid + Verizon Palm Centro-> Verizon Moto Droid X2 + Palm TX
RE: Deja vu
Yes interesting read. My own feeling is that many developers seem to ignore the use of concurrency in java, which is quite advanced. Many hiccups come that.

Deja vu
They are obviously hoping against hope that some buyer will step up.
Seems like this could have been handled so much better. The question I ask is how much value of the Palm brand was lost by the former CEO's announcement that WEB OS was dead. Me thinks it was a good chunk....
Also instead of a fire sale of $100/$150 they could have say put it at $200/$250 and this would have caused sales to spread out over a longer period of time...then they could have gone searching for a buyer.
Crazy thing is that if you go to ebay and look at prices, it is hard to get a Touch Pad for under $200.
