Programs on SmartMedia card
Thanks to anyone who can answer the question.
RE: Programs on SmartMedia card
The only production utility for any Palm OS device is AutoCF by TRG for their TRG Pro's
CompactFlash slot.
As far as accessing "stuff" on SmartMedia cards, there is a JPEG reader, DOC reader,
and a simple FTP program that can access the SmartMedia cards in the AxxPac.
AxxPac keeps them available for download here: http://www.ams-fl.com/axxpac/e_index.html" CLASS=NEWS TARGET=_NEW>http://www.ams-fl.com/axxpac/e_index.html
The API for accessing SmartMedia cards is available from the makers of the AxxPac,
but an application must have the couple of lines of code to call the AxxPac driver.
For now, you would have to copy files to/from RAM unless your application supported direct
AxxPac access.
Hopefully Palm Inc.'s announced support (http://www.palm.com/pr/062700.html" CLASS=NEWS TARGET=_NEW>http://www.palm.com/pr/062700.html)
of standard removable storage support will also include supporting the AxxPac
(they announced support for TRG's CompactFlash, Handspring's Springboard,
Sony's Memory Stick, and Palm/Panasonic's SD cards
(http://www.palm.com/pr/062700c.html)" CLASS=NEWS TARGET=_NEW>http://www.palm.com/pr/062700c.html))
