Comments on: MP3 Player, 56K Modem Coming for m100 Series
Accompanying the official release of the m105, it has been announced that several new accessories are coming for the m100 series. Shinei International is developing the porteson MP3 Player, which is expected to be available by the end of April. This device will allow users to listen to MP3 and AAC files with their m100 or m105. More details, like memory size (if any) and price, aren't yet available.
Shinei International is also working on the clipmodem 56K modem, which expected to be available by the end of March.

RE: MP3 Player

I've tried the MP3 player and the sound quality is quite good. I was wondering if the PalmOS would have the ability to store prc or pda files on the player's memory card (or even run applications directly from the card), but the Shinei rep I spoke to couldn't confirm this at the time...The only disadvantage to using this pda/mp3 player combo is that the entire unit would end up being twice the thickness of a normal m100.
Cool... But what about...
Sure sounds good. But what about the last bastion of the III series, the IIIc? I suppose you could see it quite clearly which direction Palm is heading for.
Would you believe a rumour flying around that there will be an M9xx series? Apparently this is the one that introduces Palms with the ARM chops.
I have my faith in Palm that they ARE listening to whats being said in forums like this one...

what about the III Range
mp3 sounds like a damn fine idea ,but what about the mugs like myself who have just handed over there hard earned cash for the IIIc any plans on any hardware mods or do we sell up and upgrade

Why aren't there add-ons for PALM V???
I.M. Anonymous @ 3/10/2001 2:53:20 AM #
i am presently using the IBMC3 Workpad, which is basically a Palm V.Although it is supposedly the top of the linemodel that Palm can offer, thereare no upgradesor add-ons fr it like an mp3 playeror something like that.Personally,i am waiting for a hardware add-on that can play MP3s.I hope that Palm hears this.
