Comments on: New Keyboard Options for m500 Series

Two companies have recently announced new versions of their keyboards for the Palm m500 series.

TT Tech Limited will soon release the SnapNType mini-keyboard for the Palm m500 and m505. The keyboard clips onto the bottom of the Palm, covering the hardware buttons, and allowing the user to type with their thumbs. It doesn't require a battery and will be available soon for $40.

These SnapNType devices are great. I had the honor of seeing them in action in PCEXPO2k1. The guy just handed it over, I slipped my visor in, and it worked. Perfection. Plug and Play ability without a springboard. I am thinking I will get one for my visor once I get the airprime module. Or maybe just use it with my wifi module, who needs a lappy.

Why would you sync from the Palm keyboard?

I.M. Anonymous @ 12/10/2001 11:39:54 AM #
I'm still thinking whether I'm missing something here.

1. You sync with a PC.
2. A PC always has a keyboard.
3. You use the Palm keyboard when you are AWAY from your PC.

1+2+3=????????????????

Not that I have this, or I'm intending to buy it, but here's one way I could see this being useful for me...
I have a laptop that I take home at nights and on weekends. I leave my Palm cradle in the office as I rarely sync at nights or on weekends. If I had this product, and desperately wanted to do a sync, I could use the keyboard - saving me buying a separte hotsync cable.

it will be very useful if you're always prepare your e-mail or sending SMS on the road.

Inverted Photo?

If the keyboard covers the four function buttons and fits over the bottom of the Palm, is the photo upside down? It seems the "bottom" of the photo as shown is more of a good fit with a Palm, then spreads out for the thumb typist.

No, it's not upside-down. Check the link, f00: http://www.tt-tec.com/html/Products/T111.htm
