Comments on: Color Palm By Next Summer?
In the middle of a perpetually crowded booth at Comdex, pdamart had a conversation with Palm Computing's Director of Consumer Product Marketing, John Cook. In a discussion that touched on a variety of topics, he talked about when Palm might come out with a color device.
"We don't feel in a compelling hurry to get there," Cook said. "Summer (2000) wouldn't be too late. If we can make it happen sooner we would."

Why Color?
Otto Pacheco @ 11/26/1999 2:24:32 PM #

why do we need colour?
battery drain, for what? Just so you can see pretty
pictures. The only real use I can see is for complex
colour-dependant maps, eg London Underground.
Maybe when colour becomes real cheap, light and
low-power (light emitting plastics, perhaps?) it'll become sensible, but I'd rather have
a month long battery life in a pocketable device than
a one day battery life in a winCE sized brick...
