Comments on: PalmSource to Join Open Mobile Alliance

PalmSource announced that it has joined Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), a mobile industry body dedicated to removing barriers to global user adoption and ensuring seamless mobile application interoperability. The OMA was formed in June 2002 by approximately 200 companies representing the world's leading mobile operators, device and network suppliers, information technology companies and content providers.

It sounds good, but will it work? I have see other things that looked good on paper but didn't work when put into motion.

Whole lotta members at http://www.openmobilealliance.org/members.html - from Microsoft, PalmSource, Symbian and Nokia to Nissan, T-Mobile and Sybase. Why do I have the feeling this is a loosely monitored email list with a few people in various companies just to say they are part of it.
