IMAP

Once IMAP support with SSL is working I am totally buying this!

You should try it anyway - you may want to buy SM even before it supports IMAP. I have tried VersaMail, InBoxToGo and AgendusMail, but Snappermail is my favourite. Very easy to configure and use, and a good interface that supports fingers as well as stylii.

I use it with DTG rather than QO, and it does a good job of handling attachments.

And the update installed without a hitch, which I can't say about every product :-)

IMAP is essential to me, so I am sticking with Versamail right now. Is there any major advantage to use Snappermail? I don't think I would use the finger navigation feature, which makes the screen a bit oily.

Versamail has the advantage that it got bundled with most PalmOne devices and Snappmail is pretty expensive...

palmOne says that there is no demo available for VersaMail. I had attempted to get a demo in the past before Snapper came along. VersaMail was included with my current device and looks like it it is reasonably competent. However, after using SnapperMail, I just can't go back. It's not that VersaMail is bad or anything, it's just that going back to a sedan after getting comfortable with a Ferrari or a Porsche is... well, you get the picture.

STARTTLS seems to work

I just tried the new SnapperMail and am happy to report that STARTTLS works with my configuration of sendmail. I could not get the default Handspring Mail application to do this. This solves my problem of not wanting to send my username and password in the clear to my mail server.
