Do you really have to plug a cable into the side? What's the clear plastic piece that sticks up? Looks like it's there to hold the cable.

So, you bought a Pre because -aside from other valuable things- it beautiful looks and streamlined design, and then you put it to charge on your new out-of-the-box (does it really need a box being a cracker box itself?) horrible and huge charger?

Pretty much expensive, but surely the touchstone is a much better complement from a design point of view. Havenīt these guys learned why the iphone -and ipods- sells yet?
