Comments on: Card Reader for Palm OS Updated

Card Reader Palm OSMobile Stream's Card Reader has just been updated. Card Reader allows you to use your Palm powered device's memory card slot as a standard USB card reader for transferring and managing files. The program features a 1200/1100KB/s read write speed, background transfers and a small file size. It even supports the Bluetooth File Transfer Profile for wireless card transfers. Updates include a number of bug fixes, an option to force write protection and a fix for the incomplete folder listing problem with the bluetooth ftp mode.

Card Reader v1.09 is available with a free trial and costs $11.95 to register.

Card reader also offered for Sony

I suppose for those noobs using Sony who lost their installation CDs and can't find their Card reader driver would have to use this program instead....

I wonder if it would work with Dymitrys' SDHD program upgrade?

Yes, Card Reader works with Dmitry's PlmPowerup's SDHC program, at least on the Palm TX. I have used it quite extensively without problem. Just upgraded to an 8GB SDHC card (Lexar) and it is really nice to have all my stuff on one card.

As an aside, don't forget to have a copy of SDHC on a NON-SDHC card, along with a copy of FileZ and Alex Pruss' MyInstall, in case you have to do a hard reset, since the Palm won't read the SDHC card at that point.

You guessed it - I learned this the hard way....

No charge for updating from older version?

I upgraded from 1.07 free of charge by clicking on the link in the email I got for my original purchase. I did delete the previous version before installing the new one.

Yup. That works. The readme does state that the older version should be removed first as well.
