All quiet on the technological front because of the impending release of the Lifedrive. Don't worry, NDAs die in two days.

All I want to know is, who in the world would pay $20 for AOL software, just so you can use their twenty-something dollar monthly service on your palm? Shouldn't they have to give this crap away for free to get people to use it?

yeah, that puzzles me as well. AFAIK, 70% to 90% of AOL users for PC are actually trial users. With that many free CDs going around, they're set for life.

They make people pay for the AOL client now? I used to have it on my Visor Prism for free.

AOL's payment system is pretty garbled, IMO...

Maybe AOL pays Handango to fill up your email box with this program, ala the AOL CD.. I seem to recall AOL got into a heap of trouble for their accounting practices with the mass of CDs they dumped in the 1990s.

It would not be out of the ordinary for AOL to somehow "pump up" the numbers at Handango to create some sort of illusion that anyone would want their program. Think about it - how many Palm users do YOU know that actually even HAVE this app? Are Handango sales really this miniscule?

Not that I want it-but is there AOL for OS5? Does this mean only the older units are being bought for?
