Livemint.com has a few quotes from Olivier Rozay, regional director, Asia Pacific, Palm Australasia Pty Ltd. Rozay says "With the launch of phones such as Centro, which is priced at Rs13,990 in India, we now have a much more affordable product for Indian users." Previously Palm had been selling the Treo 680 there for Rs18,000. Rozay also goes on to remark "We are also going to launch the next version of Palm operating system by end of this year, which will be more suited for our sleeker and better-looking devices."

I wonder what it is @ the new OS that makes it more suited to sleeker \ better looking devices. Could they be going virtual KB on us? Or is it just another lie? Any ideers?
RE: yeah right
Utter bollocks & spin, spin, spin. You can dress up ANY old OS in a sleek shell. If anything, an aging, limited OS is all the more reason to make sure your hardware, styling, and build quality are absolutely top-notch. Palm is one of the few companies shipping uglier, thicker, cheaper-looking clunkier devices than they were doing a decade to a half-decade ago (Palm V, m500, Visor Edge).
RE: yeah right
"Smells like bogus. *Looks* like vaporware.
"Oh, that's right. It's the new Palm OS. Coming next year!"
