Comments on: Tryda Succeeds Directory Assistant

Directory Assistant for Palm OS has just been updated and given a new name. Now called Tryda, the software remains a free and handy tool for Palm OS smartphone users.

Tryda automates queries to the Residential and Business phone directories in the US and works like a free 411 service. It will even preform reverse queries and look up names from phone numbers. You can easily dial from the results and even get maps and directions to results with a single click. The new version features a streamlined UI, the ability to save favorites, airport code support and the ability to find by business category.

At Last!

This is probably one of the best and most useful programs available. The Palm community went into collective withdrawal when the old Directory Assistant went down (through no fault of its developer, Rick "Wizard" Whitt). As he promised a few short months ago, he has rolled out a newer, better version, with more features and a better interface. I find that I am using this program more and more in my business when I am looking for businesses or people around the country, with a 98% success rate.

100% agreed. This is where the game is in future software. Very simple and effective to find info once registered etc. Excellent work.

I used DA and was lost without it. I've found that GoogleMaps has been a good substitute since then. Nonetheless I'm glad that this app is back.
