Comments on: OEM-sized 2600mAh Battery for Treo 650/700

OEM Treo BatteryDespite the release of the slim Treo 680, 750 and 755p, many users are sticking with the Treo 650/700 designs due to limited carrier availability of the new models or the older devices’ utilization of higher-capacity fullsize SD/SDHC cards. Now Treo 650/700 stalwarts have yet another reason to hang on to their old devices a bit longer with the release of Seidio’s new OEM-sized 2600mAh battery for the Treo 650 and 700w/wx/p.

Seidio Making Lotsa Friends

LiveFaith @ 8/16/2007 1:10:27 AM # Q
These guys are sure making a lot of friends around here l8ly. The 680/750 OEM and now an even better OEM for the older devices. Impressive.

Although, I would like to see the 44% jump for the 680/750, that they are getting for this. That would bring it to almost 1750mah.

I've had the 1600mAh 680/750 battery for the last week now. working on a review now. it's a modest improvement, but not as spectacular as I was hoping. it also brings back the dreaded brick heft of the 650! It's not quite as bad, but it's a noticeable difference from the stock battery.

It's good, but not great. The stock battery qualified as "barely adequate"; this one is now "average". As opposed to the 650, which was "Good", IMO.

Are you saying that the 1600 actually feels heavier in the hand than the OEM?

Oh yes indeedy. It's actually bigger than the stock 680 battery: Seidio have used every spare millimetre to cram this thing in there.

The weight point was rammed home when I dropped my Treo down on my desk after I first installed it. CLUNK!!
