Geodesic has launched the latest version 4.0 of its Mundu IM software for Palm OS. Mundu IM provides comprehensive mobile instant messaging with the ability to cross-conference friends, colleagues and family across AIM, MSN, ICQ, Jabber, Google Talk and Yahoo IM services through a single single user-friendly interface.

I have used chatopus for some years now. Very good and stable program which also runs Gtalk in the background, as well as any other service. You will find it here: http://www.chatopus.com/
Mundu looks better and is really good priced. Curious about stability and use of battery when always on.

No, Chatopus does not allow baground mode for SSL connections, i.e. GTalk cannot be kept alive in background.
And the other major (IMHO) drwaback is that it does not offer the option to automaticaly disconect from services between certain hours.

Very good
I have been using Verichat for some time now and there has been at least one feature that has not been implemented (until now) in any other IM client: login/sleep time. Now Mundu can also be set to go to sleep at night and wake up/login in the morning.
Another great thing: it can run GTalk in background mode. It is the only IM client for PalmOS that can do that AFAIK.
