Comments on: Circuit City Sale Pricing on Z22 and E2

Circuit City is running a sale on the Palm E2 and Z22 handhelds on their webstore. The updated price of the Z22 is now $74.99 after mail-in-rebate with free shipping. This is a discount of 25% from the standard $99.99 MSRP.

The E2 Bonus Pack (a Circuit City exclusive bundle comprising the regular E2 package plus a brown leather flip case and Astraware's Sudoku game on CD) has a super low $179.99 price after instant discount (no rebate required). The E2 has free shipping as well.

The Palm TX is also discounted to a low $254.99 with instant savings but the item is currently sold out online.

All the PDAs on sale and the T/X is out of stock. Is it: 1. just a sale? 2. clearane for new models? 3. the beginning of the end of the PDA? Better watch closely so you can stock up if it's #3.

I hope it's #2 because my Tungsten C sure is long in the tooth. And like many, I don't want to go the smartphone route. I prefer the bigger screen of a pda, and I am often on the phone when I want to check something on my Palm. I also don't want my cell provider crippling features or limiting my internet access.

Here's hoping for a Lifedrive/TX hybrid with capacious flash memory. That's the easy part. Trying to figure out what Palm will do with the OS is harder.
