CAGE MATCH: Resco Backup vs. BackupMan

As a former user of BackupMan (since it first came out) and a current user of Resco Backup, I'd have to say that Resco Backup is the best choice available right now, with BackupMan a close second. I haven't used version 2 of Resco Backup yet, but the previous version has been rock solid and has flawlessly restored the dozens of resets I've experienced with my Treo 700 over the past year. Resco has more options than BackupMan though, and seems to get updates more frequently.

If you don't need all of the extra features that are offered by Resco Backup then you might as well flip a coin if trying to decide between the two.

Resco has more options than BackupMan, especially when it comes to scheduling. However, Resco's encryption is weak (the encryption that comes with zip compression) and BackupMan's encryption is strong (Blowfish).

BackupBuddyVFS Pro And Resco

frankoT650 @ 5/3/2007 4:53:09 PM # Q
I think Resco's "new, optional basic mode, with a simplified interface" Is a total rip off of BackupBuddyVFS basic mode. BBVFS was the original memory card backup and has basic and advanced modes for like 6 years now. The BBVFS Pro software has all the features and more. Resco doesn't have an option to backup when the battery is low for example. I'll stick with my BackupBuddyVFS software.
