Comments on: HP's Major Gaming Aspirations for webOS?

HP's Radul Sood, CTO of HP's "advanced computing group", but likely better known to PC gaming aficionados as the founder of boutique PC builder Voodoo, sat down with Palm's Ben Galbraith and Dion Almaer on their Palm Developer Podcast to discuss all things gaming, WebOS, and HP.

Rahul has some very high praise indeed for WebOS and HP's vision for a fabulous gaming future for WebOS. A promo HP video from 2006 is available on his personal blog as well as some additional WebOS thoughts to suggest that a WebOS-like immersive gaming initiative was on HP's mind years ago.

Wrong move

HP's big money is enterprise and businees apps. Forget trying to be cool like your Cupertino prodegy. When Steve and company took lessons for Dave Packard, he also took the youthful vigor that was pre 80's HP with him.

Get WebOS into enterprise accounts and forget Apple. The blood you should be smelling is RIM. Go after every RIM account you can get your hand on, throw in some servers and support contracts in the deal.

RIM is Canadian, that alone will get you some accounts stolen.

I agree 100%! The old HP was the leader in handheld personal computing products while the new HP is totally system oriented. To play in the handheld market today they buy or use other company's technology rather than innovate.
