Comments on: Sprint CFO Speaks on Pre Shortages

Sprint LogoSprint's chief financial officer has made a number of comments on the Palm Pre to investors via a webcast today, reports Reuters. CFO Bob Brust says the company is managing the Pre shortage situation and says new shipments are coming in every week. He also goes on to say that Sprint has seen little impact from the recent iPhone launch.

"We still have a backlog of subscribers but it's not unmanageable and we get shipments every week, [...] We'll be short for a while but we're catching up," said Brust, who sees the phone attracting new customers as well as existing Sprint customers, potentially reducing its subscriber cancellation rate.

On the wait list

I'm on the wait list at a local Sprint store. I'm currently a T-Mobile customer. When I signed up 10 days ago, I was at spot 11. Now I'm at spot 45. Apparently, people who's phones broke and are in need of a replacement get put on the list at the top. This means 1) The wait is getting longer, not shorter and 2) It seems like a lot of phones are breaking! Do I really still want one of these things?

so how do you get on one? I'm already a sprint customer... do I have to wait until I'm eligible to get an upgrade before I can get this phone at a reasonable price?
