Recently, Palm Inc. has begun a campaign increase usage of Palm.net, its wireless Internet service. The centerpiece of this plan involves dropping the price of the Palm VIIx to just $200 and then offering a $100 rebate to those who use Palm.net Unfortunately, the company apparently has run into a snag. According to ZDnet, some new Palm.net customers have been unable to active their accounts. "We are aware of the problem and are working with suppliers to resolve the issue," a company spokesperson said. The spokesperson gave neither details nor an estimated time the problem might be cleared up, though she did say it was affecting a comparatively few users. Related Articles: On the Web:

That's not their only problem. An ongoing problem has been that depending on where you are in the Philadelphia Area, you not picking up the correct signal. For example when I want location based information I have to use the zipcode option, otherwise it comes back with data from the williamsport, area of Pennsylvannia. I'm in the northwest part of the city Chestnut Hill, Mt Airy and this happens. It doessen;t happen anywhere else in the Philadelphia area or in the northeast from Boston to Washington. Palm is aware of the situation but hasn't been able to give me a timeframe for its resolution
