James McCombe has been working hard developing a Palm version of the classic nazi shoot-em-up, WolfenStein 3D, seen
here before. In his latest update the project has taken a whole new direction and promises to be a very exciting game for the Palm platform. He has renamed the game to Doomling and is implimneting some great new features such as IR deathmatch, a PC level editor and high quality greyscale graphics. It even has features that cause it to surpass the limits of original Wolfenstein 3D for the PC! Read all about it and check the screenshots

The translucent palm cases mentioned on
here a while back are finally available to order. PalmGear's
store says they will begin shipping Tuesday, November 23rd. Mine is ordered and hopefully on its way...

In the middle of a perpetually crowded booth at Comdex, pdamart had a conversation with Palm Computing's Director of Consumer Product Marketing, John Cook. In a discussion that touched on a variety of topics, he talked about
when Palm might come out with a color device.
"We don't feel in a compelling hurry to get there," Cook said. "Summer (2000) wouldn't be too late. If we can make it happen sooner we would."

C|Net's rumor mill is at it again, this time claiming that Compaq is having serious doubts about Windows CE. The
article claims they are "evaluating other operating systems" for their handheld line.

SV.com claims the Sony deal is a slap in M$'s face.
C|Net thinks that Sony might use the Palm OS to rival the
Gameboy. If you were wondering what the heck a Sony memory stick is ZDNet has an
explanation.
Kettner's Palm and HandSpring clubs have moved to a
new location. You will need to re-register, but registration is a quick 30 second process. The
NPUG has a report from Comdex.
PayPal.com is the latest attempt at a Palm e-wallet. And if there are any doctors in the house check out the newly updated app
PatientKeeper.

As if the Sony deal wasn't enough,
News.com has more bad news for the
Windows CE platform. Manufacturer Everex became the latest defector from the Windows camp, as the company confirmed it has effectively discontinued its line of palm-sized PCs based on the Microsoft operating system. They also have a
piece on the OmniSky service.
